December 31 The "Lost 6 in 2007"Every corkscrew collector has his big scores and his regretful losses. Today I am reflecting on my regretful losses. There are defiantly a few corkscrews that I regret selling off or trading. Now I may have received a lot in trade or had an outrageous sale for the item, so it may have been worth it at the time. I just miss, formerly mine.......Syroco Stained Monk, Syroco Stained Clown, my Pink "Hairy" Pigs butt, rare Sterling Ribbed Stag Horn, and most of all a Sterling Covered Stag Horn w/ Sterling St. Pauly Girl Figurine. Oh, the ones that got away..... December 29 Good things come in 3'sMark it up! Add another 3 to the list of flashes! This brings the current total to 82. My personal list of flashes is coming along nicely. They will be categorized according to Title, State, Picture Description, and then numbered. I have only logged about 30 to my personal list, but have about 5 that are not on the 2006 Williamson "Flash" Souvenir Corkscrew List that Don put together in 2006. I think it's time for an update! December 22 In 3's....Well, more Flash Corkscrews are still trickling in. Today I had 3 arrive. The total flash count is now at 79! I really need to make a personal inventory list of what I have so far. I think that would make a good New Years Resolution. Hopefully Santa and the mailman will drop off a few more before years end! December 20 Finally! The Quarterly Worm Best 6 of 2007 List!I must say I'm more excited now than I am on Chirstmas Morning! Today The Quarterly Worm newsletter arrived in the mail. A special thanks to all who submitted their "Best 6" as there are about 15 entries. I must give great Kudos to BOB KIMBALL who has acquired a total of 7 Crosby Pup Corkscrews in 2007! Not to mention the one with it's original box! I wonder if he would be willing to give one up considering he has more than 10% of all the pups produced? Hey Bob - I've seen the blue pig!!!!! December 19 Twins!Today was a nice surprise... Another Laughing Man Corkscrew arrived in the mail. Do you think Santa gets a break on Priority Mail during the holidays? Well, either way, he can keep'em coming! December 17 Christmas Shopping....kinda.....not reallyWell, I've been avoiding Christmas shopping all month long. Good thing I was able to fill my free time with some antique shopping! I've been hitting the malls pretty hard this past week, and today was a good day. I picked up 3 screws just to make me feel good about loosing at the last 8 shops, then I found a Multi Tool fully marked "The Andress Tool Pat. August 24 '75" for a reasonable $6 w/ 20% off. Last but not least I found a Stained Laughing Man corkscrew! He was hidden pretty well in the case. Good thing he had his worm hanging out! Best of all, his sticker price was only $8.50. Merry Christmas to me! Now that I found my present to myself, what am I to do about the other 15 people on my list......? December 02 Back on top!Well I've been exonerated by Ebay! I'll be listing several items in the coming months as I have much to catch up on. The Syrocokid has some great items on Ebay right now, so feel free to bid like crazy! The long awaited Syroco Mold is up for grabs! Sorry Josef....No BIN for you. Goodness, have you seen the items Corkpuller has listed! All I want for Christmas is...... |
